Help!!!! Hyperhidrosis????

I think I have hyperhidrosis because I sweat constantly on my palms, underarms, and feet. I have tried perscription stuff and nothing lasts long enough. There is a procedure called "thorascopic sympathectomy" which is where they cut a nerve in your chest that causes your glands to over produce sweat. Does anyone know anything about it or have had the procedure done??? I was just wondering how much it costs, if insurance would cover it and if it really works. THanks!

Help!!!! Hyperhidrosis????
First - before you do that - are you on any medications that may cause it? I ask because I was on Cymbalta and it gave me Hyperhidrosis! For a whole year none of my doctors could figure out why I was sweating all the time it seemed out of every pore on my body... I even had hormone tests done by my OB/GYN to make sure I was not entering into Menopause --- We traced back to when I started to have the problem and the only thing that was different was that one medicine - I did a search and one of the more uncommon side affects was hyperhidrosis! They took me off the Cymbalta and no more wetness --- (oh and I always felt like I smelled like vinegar no matter how many showers a day I took)
Reply:BEFORE U TRY THIS PROCEDURE...GO TO WEB MD AND ASK THAT QUESTION IN THERE..UNDER WOMANS' HEALTH....PLEASE!!
Reply:ETS (Endoscopic Thorasic Surgery) is a LAST resort.

Try every remedy under the sun before you attempt to solve hyperhidrosis with surgery.

Many people have ETS and walk out with compensatory sweaty. They may have initially wanted treatment for sweating hands armpits and feet and weeks after the surgery they have sweat coming from their groin and stomach.

Have you tried natural treatments?

Also, deodorants like drysol and certain dri work increasingly over time. try them a little longer.
