Hyperhidrosis questions, please help me!?

I think that I might have focal hyperhidrosis in my armpits? I read Web MD and they said that no one can really tell how much sweat is "too much" but, I sweat through normal OTC deoderants every day. Often times even through sweat shirts and sweaters. I'm so sick of it, and it's really embarassing when i'm in school, or at the mall... I'm not overly stressed or too hot, i just sweat. even when it's cold.

But it's like wicked embarassing. I know i should probably talk to my doctor, but it's like a wierd thing to say, like i would feel wierd even telling her. I don't even tell my parents.

Is a prescription antiperspirant really effective? Except it has higher levels of aluminum, which I really don't want.

I read that botox injections work over 90% of the time, but what are the side effects to that. And how much would it cost?

Does anyone know anything about this, and know of anything else I can do? And about my prescription antiperspirant questions and botox questions?

thanks.

Hyperhidrosis questions, please help me!?
This will last for three months, getting botox injections in your underarms, they cost about 100$ per visit and will make you feel more confident, + u dont have to wear deoderant!
Reply:Your body is not weird --- it is yours. Try wearing 100% cotton vs. polyester. Polyester and nylon do not allow your body to breathe. Also, if you are sweating, why wear sweatshirts and sweaters? Wear a sleeveless garment under a light sweater or cotton blouse.

To get rid of the yellow stains, make up a solution of white distilled vinegar and water. Soak armpit area, rinse, then wash normally.

And, nothing is too embarassing to ask a doctor. Trust me on that one. They've heard it all and have a lot of answers.
Reply:WELL I can tell you this...I had hyperhidrosis as well...but it was in my hands...very embarrassing I know!! I had a clip put on the nerve that produces too much sweat and now I don't sweat on my hands! I know that the same doctor in LA who did my surgery does surgeries for a lot of people with all kinds of hyperhidrosis problems...you should seriously check it out....Im not sure of the docs name its been years....I'll try and find it for you though....ur going to have to at least tell your parents though so you can get the surgery....I got this done when I was a junior in high school and it truly changed my life :) email me if you want more info ok??
Reply:-Surgery is out of the question. That is a LAST resort.

- Botox works but it is very expensive and you have to go back every 9 months for new injections

Try the following:

1. Use Certain Dri or Drysol. Drysol is prescription deodorant that works wonderfully on axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating).

2. Drink Green Tea every night. The sage in the tea acts as an astringent and over time it will lessen your sweating.

3. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water. It will lower your internal body temperature and make you sweat less.
