What do you think about dermatologists? can they help my hyperhidrosis problem?

I am having problems with hyperhidrosis. I was thinking about going to a dermatologist, instead of a regular family doctor, and was wondering if it was easy to schedule an appointment with them. Also, i was wondering if they are able to help with hyperhidrosis problems or if it would just be a waste of my money and time.

What do you think about dermatologists? can they help my hyperhidrosis problem?
There are other treatments you can try before you opt for surgery. These include special antiperspirants, medications, electric current, and botox. Dermatologists can treat hyperhidrosis.

Reply:i think it would be best to go to a dermatolagist, but it may take a long time to make an appointment.
Reply:Hyperhydrosis ( excessive sweating) is an autonomic

problem , not a skin problem as many might think.

your proper route should be to your family doctor who will refer you to a thoracic surgeon.

thoracic surgeons are the ones who treat hyperhydrosis by a simple surgical procedure to interrupt the excessive sympathetic input that results in excessive sewating.

hope this helps!

Reply:Hyperhidrosis is a serious medical condition that requires treatment from an experienced medical professional.

First, learn about Choosing Your Doctor and the types of doctors who treat hyperhidrosis, their specialties, and the treatments they are likely to be able to provide. The type of doctor you choose, or choose to start with, will depend upon the severity of your sweating and your previous experiences with treatments.
