Hyperhidrosis and ETS?

If you don't know what it is, google it!

i'm looking for people who have Hyperhidrosis and had it treated,

I'm particulary interested in the results of the ETS.. how much it cost you, where you had it done, and what the results were..

I'd love to read your story.

Thanks so much.

Hyperhidrosis and ETS?
Hi Dina. I read ur blog and honey I know exactly how u feel. Having hyperhidrosis is soooo very embarrassing and not to mention humiliating. It makes u feel like u wanna get into a bubble and stay there! Well, I have been surfing the web for the past few days looking for something that would help me get my life back to normal and stumbled upon Maxim. I read the info and testimonies the site provided. It all sounded pretty convincing. I also did a goggle search on HH treatments available out there and Maxim popped up again along with a surgical procedure call ETS (which is very expensive). I looked up the listing for board certified surgeons that performed the surgery and found a surgeon in my area and was told the surgery starts at $15k and was also told about a oral medication called Robinul (which can cause blurriness and cannot be used while driving etc....). I was also told that some insurance co will insure the surgery for you but, u must have met 3 requirements to be qualified for coverage.

#1. Botox injections: which must be given every 6 months.

#2. Oral Medication (Robinul) causes dry mouth.

#3. Rx antiperspirant (Drysol) causes burning or itching sensation.

What I'd suggest u do is to go to the Maxim site and see what u think about it. I ordered my first bottle and I am currently waiting on it to come in the mail as we speak.

The site is maximteam.com Good luck!
Reply:Hey.....

I have really sweaty underarms. The doctor gave me Drysol and it works GREAT!!!!

So tell me what ETS is!
Reply:Some doctors only reccomend ETS for palmar hyperhydrosis.

Here's the important thing about ETS, it has ruined lives and improved lives from what i've found through research on the Internet. Hopefully you'll do your research on ETS.

It's not a surgery to be overlooked and done right away. The surgeon is basically destroying parts of the sympathetic nerve. This is a basic surgery that general surgeons can do. ETS surgeons just have special training in using small cameras and technology for this procedure.

ETS should be the LAST resort (after deciding if you can live with hyperhydrosis)

I was thrilled when I came accross an ETS surgeon's web site. ETS seemed so easy; it was a "dream" cure with 98% success rate. (Don't trust statistics either unless your a stats major and know a thing or two about statistics; as statistics can be misleading sometimes). Do not trust the surgeon's "testimonials", I can assure you they are ALL positive. After doing some research i've decided not to go through with ETS. I do not want to live with the bad results if they occure. This seems to be a surgery not to be taken "lightly" as most ETS surgeons make it to be. Many surgeons tend to not explain ALL possible side effects.

Here are some treatment options:

Iontophoresis is interesting and seems to work on many people. I would suggest this; I will try this soon.

I also used Drysol but it is expensive and only temporary.

Many post-ETS patients talk about their expirence: http://p069.ezboard.com/betsandreversals

I've read that in the US it costs $5,000-$8,000 (probably more) and outside of US as much as $20,000.

Hopefully you'll do your research and make an good decision. I wish you the best ;]
