I have suffered from hyperhidrosis since the age of 12. I used aluminum chloride for 4 years and it worked well, until one day it just quit. Since then I have tried oral medication, other types of antipersperints, and botox 3 times. Nothing seems to help. Surgery is not an option for me. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas in helping me with this daily struggle of hiding my sweat marks. Thanks.
I am 18 and have severe hyperhidrosis of the armpits. What should I try?
I am 20 yrs old and I've suffered from hyperhidrosis of the feet, hands, and underarms since I was about 12 as well, and just recently I had botox injections in both my feet and underarms. Since it is really too soon to tell if the injections have worked, I really cannot comment on it.
But to address your question, the one deodorant that has helped me to a certain extent with this problem is called Mitchum. If you haven't already tried it, you may want to try it out to see if it gives you a little relief with the sweating.
Reply:My boyfriend has hyperhydrosis of his armpits, hands, and feet. He has not found anything to help with the hands or feet but for the armpits he uses Certain Dri. I'm not sure if this is the same as aluminum choloride but from what he and others have said, when used properly (as per directions) this seems to work wonders. Good luck!
Reply:I'm sorry to hear that. I had heard that botox works, but apparently in our case it didn't. Good luck.
Reply:I'm 20 and experienced hyperhidrosis of the armpits from the age of 12 to 19. i used the aluminum chloride stuff too. it worked for a while, then didn't after a while. i believe it is caused by hormonal imbalances. i no longer have a problem with this condition. I know it will be hard, but just tough it out. Maybe your case will be the same to where it may pass. Good luck. Also you may want to talk to the doctor about alternative medications. I used Drysol.
