Will Insurance pay for botox treatment for hyperhidrosis?
Your doctor will have to go to the mat for you to get reimbursement for this procedure. First, you have to have used some medication like Drysol and failed treatment. It depends on the insurance company as to the protocol for any outpatient treatment plan. If you can prove that you have tried other forms of treatment and surgery is not an option, (you also need proof of that). Your derm or surgeon may put in for prior authorization. Do this first before you have anything done. Otherwise they can say you did not get approval beforehand. Insurance companies don't like to do retro-active authorization. Good luck and let us know.
Reply:Your doctor will probably have to write a letter of medical necessity to you insurance company. The insurance company will of course drag there feet. You will probably have to pay all up front cost and get reimbursed later. But I would follow up with your insurance company on this matter.
Reply:my insurance didnt pay for mine. i just got it done today =]

it was $1000 though.
